Topics getting the most attention in Lincoln County public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Senior and disabled resident transportation
Two grants will keep rides flowing for seniors 65+ and disabled residents — 4,217 rides to 454 people last year — including trips to dialysis, cancer treatment, and medical appointments.
Lincoln County's limited MPO representation
Lincoln County holds only one or two votes out of roughly 26-28 on the Gaston-Cleveland-Lincoln MPO, while Gaston County's 13 municipalities carry far more weight. Commissioners worry this puts the county behind the eight ball, though NCDOT noted Lincoln projects scored well on merit — five of the top 18.
St. James Church Road/NC 16 signalization
NCDOT asked the county to back a traffic signal at this reduced conflict intersection, unlocking state safety funding for the design.
